Eli Gold
Teacher (he/him)
Eli is a freshman at Princeton University, planning to study math. During high school, Eli studied numerous advanced mathematical topics at the University of Connecticut and at the Canada/USA Mathcamp, and also created his own high school math club and taught online for LIVE, by Po-Shen Loh. Eli is equally passionate for music, and loves to combine math and music in his hobby of change-ringing, the centuries-old English practice of ringing mathematical permutations of tuned bells. For those of you near Boston, there are change-ringing bells in Old North Church, one of less than 50 change-ringing towers in all of North America, if you want to learn to ring tower bells. Sadly, Eli has only ever rung on handbells. Despite the deplorable state of Eli's towerless change-ringing, Eli has managed to overcome his grief, and is excited to join the Cambridge Math Circle to continue sharing the joy of math with as many people as he can.

Three years later, he's still at CMC, excited to teach math. The thing that makes Filip the happiest about teaching is knowing he's making a change and passing on his passion for mathematics to others. Besides studying, he likes playing guitar, making origami figures, and watching TV series. He's also trained in gymnastics, so he can do a handstand and a backflip!

Francisco Verón Ferreira
Teacher (he/him)
Francisco graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.S. in Engineering and B.A. in Mathematics. Originally from Paraguay, he fell in love with math and science through competitions, participating in math, physics, chemistry, and astronomy olympiads, eventually representing his country at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Programs such as Canada/USA Mathcamp and the Modern Mathematics International Summer School (MoMISS) also provided support and encouragement to help him decide on pursuing further mathematical education. In her spare time, Luna likes to learn about linguistics, constitutional law, solving puzzles, and playing video games (quickly). She also speaks toki pona, a constructed language with just 120 words!

Maria Tyutyunik

Maria has loved math her entire life. She loves the beauty and elegance of a good proof, the ways concepts click together and connect in unexpected ways, and the way the grand edifice of mathematics rises from humble foundations and reaches the clouds. She also loves teaching -- particularly the moments when students suddenly see something they didn't before, and a light shines in their eyes. In her free time, Maria square dances, bakes, writes code, and reads stories. She also embroiders and has embroidered several designs based on mathematical patterns, including a Sierpinski triangle!

Maya Robinson

Nataliya Yufa
Co-Founder (she/her)
Nataliya Yufa first got hooked on teaching math in 1st grade, when trying to solve a particularly hard math problem while walking home from school with a friend. As an undergrad at MIT, she got hooked on mathematical research - working in knot theory and algebraic geometry applied to materials science. While working on her Ph.D. in physics in Chicago, Nataliya caught the teaching bug, working with undergrads at U Chicago, and K-12 students and adults in STEM outreach. On the South Side of Chicago, where the inequities in educational opportunities are particularly great, she identified math as the thing that would hold back low-income, underrepresented students from high-paying, stable jobs in STEM. Nataliya worked for 2 years as a researcher at a math education nonprofit, and eventually transitioned to the classroom, and then co-founded The Cambridge Math Circle with Mira Bernstein. In her free time, Nataliya likes to play piano, bake and go for slow runs with friends.
